Henry was declared dead at the scene, while his father, Sergio Losco, was found unconscious alongside him and rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he later awoke to the devastating news of his son’s death. The family had only recently moved to Canada and to the apartment two weeks prior.
Sergio, recovering from related health issues including a lung infection, remembered his son as a brilliant, kind, and soccer-loving child. The mother, Marina Hills, expressed profound grief and urged greater awareness about carbon monoxide risks, emphasizing that “this can really happen to anyone.” Authorities, including the Regina Fire Department, identified the boiler as the source following an investigation, highlighting the dangers of faulty heating equipment during cold weather.
